Project - SOF12 Double Stamping

This is gorgeous! I didn't think to use different tones of the same color for this technique, but you showed how lovely it is!

This is sooo pretty! The background turned out really nice, I can see both patterns. I like the layout and the gems too!

This is an absolutely beautiful card! The snowflake is gorgeous and the sentiment is just wonderful! Outstanding work!

Spectacularly beautiful! Love everything about it!

This card is seriously amazing. Beautiful composition, color and technique!

Fabulous card! The dot background beautifully compliments the rest of your card so glad you worked to achieve the water stamp look you desired. I "can see" the sparkle in my mind's eye. The pewter stain and platinum mist certainly add to your beautiful look. Thanks so much for playing in my challenge!

This card is for Jan's SOF12 Sparkle challenge, to do the double background stamping technique. This card is very shiny, but it is hard to see on the photos. I went through three different backgrounds for this card before I was reasonably happy. It is so easy to get too much fluid on your stamp when stamping with mist or water. I inked my paper with blue shades of Distress Inks. Mixed a homemade perfect pearls mist, using Chipped Sapphire reinker and perfect pearls. I misted it on my craft sheet and inked the stamp with it. Even if I did it carefully and only once, I kept picking up too much mist.

After drying it, I picked a dot stamp, inked with Versamark and did the same as above, but with only water. I got too much water on the stamp and the dots looked more like splotches than dots. So instead I misted the stamp carefully with water, and tried to get just enough.

The snowflakes were die cut from watercolour paper. The blue one was misted with the same mist used for the card, the silver one was coloured with Brushed Pewter Distress Stain and the third one was misted with Platinum mist. I cut a circle frame, covered it with Pewter stain, thought it was too silver and misted with the blue mist, it is pretty cool how the pewter sits on top of the blue mist. The inner circle was coloured with the Pewter stain and the sentiment and snowflakes were stamped with Archival Jet Black.

I also dyed the ribbon with the pewter stain and swept it around the edges of the inky panel. TFL!!
