Just got my 85 1.2 II on wednesday, so far I have only shot indoors with little light available. Temperature here is -45C with wind chill so everything freezes really quickly especially fingers and noses. The II is supposed to be 1.8 times faster to focus than the I. And like Heather says it ROLLS into focus.

Thanks for your input and nice comments ladies. I was pretty happy with the sharpness on my close-ups, it was the full body shots that stressed me out.

Julie- I have a crop sensor too, I shoot with the 50D. I like this focal length on it, but I think it would perfect for full frame.

Heather- Do you have the new version of the 85 or the older one? I tried out the old version and I'm wondering how much faster the new one is.

Mama-Floss, thanks for pointing out her eyes,I think Heather is right that I over-sharpened for web. I tried out a new action for web sharpening, and I think I over did it. Her eyes look much better in Photoshop. I didn't do much to them since I had tons of catchlights with all the snow.

Thanks again ladies, I always love input on how to improve!

georgouseness...and so is she....I love these...of course im partial to the red heads <img border='0' src='/graphics/mbicons/smilies_v2/wink.gif'>

Those look pretty spectacular to me. Did you do her eyes...that would be my only CC, they look a tad overdone. I must say, every lense I've even gotten took some time to get used to... this one is next after the 70-200. Love her hair...I have a boyfriend for her in 20 years!

Abbey is too cute in these. I'd love that lens too.

Brilliant shots - I think you have excellent focus on these - especially the first couple.

I think the focus looks sharp! Do you have a full frame? I have been wanting this lens but I have a crop sensor. Super cute girl!

It takes getting used to the &quot;rolling&quot; into focus, but it's really been a gem. I have been getting tack-sharp images at 1.2 and that's full body. Again, it does take getting used to and I hesitated to think it would be that much better than the 1.8, but for me (an 85-a-holic) it's been worth the upgrade.

I actually think you may have overs-sharpened for web (which is easy to do with this lens) but your focus looks great to me, especially on that first one.
