Isn't it great to have a link to the past like that? Hmmm - 10-year-old writing cursive. My 10-y-o grandson writes in cursive but I don't know how many kids are still taught cursive these days. Just think how your page would look if the letter was replaced by a copy of an email or a tweet! Nice job on the LO.
Fun to come across those kinds of windows into the past isn't it?
Project - The Letter

Last week when I was in Utah, I met for the first time, a second cousin that I've been corresponding with online. Her grandfather and my grandfather were brothers. I drove to Cache Valley (northern Utah) to her home, and she gave me this wonderful letter that was written by my then-ten year old grandpa to his 20 year old brother (her grandpa) who was serving an LDS mission in Texas. The year was 1897.
I am lucky to have a photo taken of the family at about the same time the letter was written, her grandpa was not in the photo due to his absence.
Everything by me.
