Project - A Colorful Christmas - Poinsettia Wreath
Galleries: Scrapbooking, Altered Projects, Home Decor
For my A Colorful Christmas project I made a paper Poinsettia Wreath using my Cameo!
Step 1- Start by cutting various flowers using your die cutting machine, hand cutting or manual die cutting machine. I used the Nested Poinsettia file for Silhouette.
Step 2- Build your blooms as you like. I used brads for centers on some as well as the chipboard pieces that came with the Peppermint Twist page kit.
Step 3- Using a craft store floral wreath I looped and tied off my hook for my wreath before placing the flowers on.
Step 4- Simply hot glue your flowers on. I layered mine all out to make sure I had enough flowers made. Once they were all placed I tucked in leaves of green to cover gaps and holes.
Step 5- The final touch is a paper bow made using the Cameo as well. I used the 3D Ribbon Bow file by Silhouette for that one.
A couple other key watch outs. When cutting thick glitter paper make sure you have your die-cutter set to the right depth. I almost cut through my mat. The glitter will also take off some of the stick of your mat. So I quickly switched to an old mat. I also find that using hot glue is the best for projects you want to keep year after year. The glue seems to hold up so much better!
TFL and enjoy!
