Project - Butterfly cards

Sense a theme here? :o) All three cards are kraft cardstock base. I stamped flourishes on all three first in brown chalk ink, and then stamped again (randomly) in versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The faux stitching on the second card was made with a white gel pen. The first card is a “thinking of you” card for a coworker in the hospital – I added several pages inside so that a lot of us could sign it. I did this by taking plain ol computer paper, cutting it down to size, folding it in half, sticking that inside the card (fold to fold), and then stitching the seam, kind of like a saddle-stitch book (you can see the string bows along the fold of the card). The butterfly on the second card is from the Amy Butler Butterflies diecut ppr. I wanted a little more depth to it, though, so I traced around it on a piece of blue vellum (a little bigger than the butterfly) and cut it out, to make a little layered affect. The butterflies on the other two cards were cut using my Making Memories Slice machine, and I did the same vellum tracing bit on these as well. Each butterfly is then adhered to a small piece of blue cardstock, embellished with a few flowers, button, ribbon, string, and gems from my stash, and then adhered to the card with pop dots. (I also added wire antennae to the butterfly on that first card.) tfl :o)
