Galleries: Scrapbooking

I'm still trying to learn digi scrapbooking. This is one of the first LOs I made. Technically, it's not really a LO. It is something I intended to frame and give to my friend Tricia's husband after her death in December from breast cancer. I wrote the poem about the first time I met Tricia; about what I in her the first time we met. I haven't been able to bring myself to give this to him, I think it might go in my scrapbook instead. I used the free 2Peas kit, Pink October for this. The poem reads: “Among the noise and pushing closeness
Of the crowd
I lifted my head.
Focusing across the many faces that bobbed around me.
My sight landed on your face
Bent in concentration,
Shadowed by the brim of your cap.

What was it, I wonder?
Was it the way the light lay on your shoulders
And, illuminating you,
Imprinted the picture of you
on my memory?
Or was it the darkness in the depths of your eyes
Or the way you lingered a little too long, searching and uncommitted?
No.
I am certain
Now there was no sun at all.
The light was yours.
I was drawn
like a moth
To that thing within you,
Unmistakable and magnetic.
It was something
Felt more than seen,
Known more than noticed,
impossible to ignore.
Strength.
Grace.
Love.
Life.
Energy.
Hope.
Perhaps I saw myself reflected
Or knew without knowing
That the same fire that burned
In me
Was what lit you up from within.
I was the moth
You were the flame
And the fire burns brighter still.

The light within you
Will never die.”
