For the Pub Ad Challenge (thanks Paula and Esther) and for the journaling challenge – seeing Yosemite in winter is like seeing it for the FIRST time.

I'm a little obsessed with my love of snow, or lack thereof. In most of California it is a rarity. I don't ski so I have no motivation to draw me to the slops. But Yosemite National Park to experience winter and the snow. Oh yea.

We got a late start as we we were aiming to arrive in daylight to enjoy the winter wonderland. On the way, it was pretty much devoid of snow. I was beginning to wonder if we would see any snow at all. Gradually, though, as night began to fall, the emergence of the beauty of Yosemite in winter began to unfold.

Soon we were delighted with rows of snow covered pine trees. As we navigated the winding road, the orange-purple sunset, accompanied with snow-covered mountains and gentle roll of fog was magical.

I have to say no matter how many times I've visited Yosemite, seeing it in the winter feels like the very first time.
