Project - My Scrapbook Loft by Fleur-de-Lisa posted 02/03/09 at 01:03 AM I have moved 4 times in the past 3 years and as many of you know...that is no small task when you are a scrapbooker! Two of the moves were local and two were 2,200 miles each. Before that first long distance move from California to Georgia, I posted my scrapbook room here: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1206809 Now I've moved back to California, all of my stuff in tow and set it all up again. We are renting for now and have a two bedroom plus a loft. I have taken over the 2nd bedroom for scrapbook storage and set up the loft as my work space. I'm finally starting to get my groove back and find places for things again and still remember where those things are...if you know what I mean! LOL Anyway, I decided to take some pictures today and thought I would share some of them with you. edit*** I'm adding a few more pictures from questions I answered over on the Message Board. So there are also some shots in here from Christmas that I explain a little more in this thread http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2744446 |

Love your space. I would hate the thought of packing up my room and moving it across the hall, let alone across country!

Your scrap space looks like a scrapers heaven! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the large clock face on the wall? BEAUTIFUL room!

Where did you get the black scrapping/storage island? I can't tell if it's the same one you had in the first scraproom or not, but that is exactly what I want in my new space. We're having a house built and I have the room pretty much done in my mind. LOL

Your space is so organized - you must be an expert at packing stuff up and then knowing how to arrange it just right in your new home! Love that sb "island" and especially love that your cat looks comfortable. Thanks for showing us. Maria

Regardless of the weather, you must have great lighting. I love the giant clock on the wall, the wall of stamps, and even the little easel
One question though: On your computer desk, below the giant paperclip, are those two big pencils? Just curious...Love this room!!
Wow, I love this space!

Yes. One is a real pencil (lead and wood although you'd never really use it...I don't think! LOL) that's over 12" long. Got that from Pottery Barn Kids. The other one is a pewter decorative pencil that's a bit longer and that's from the regular Pottery Barn.

I bought it a few years back and I can't seem to find the online store anymore. But it's a La Crosse 40" Tower clock so you could search online to locate it and find the best deal. I know when I bought it the price varied as much as $200 more than what I found it for.

The island is from Pottery Barn and it is the same one I had in my old scrapbook room and I am pretty sure there's more info. in that post on it. But the nice thing about that island is that it is in three pieces. The ends are bookcases and the top fits snuggly over it so that there's no need to screw it together (as suggested in the instructions). You'd never know it was separate pieces, yet it's great to take apart when you need to move...either to a new home or just somewhere else in the room.

But, this one is wonderful too! All my SB goodies are in the process of being moved, so I feel your relocation pain! I am actually moving to a house with a loft, so this is perfect inspiration!
Your original SB room is the first one I feel in love with on 2Peas
Happy scrapping!

I bought the chandelier at a gift shop (I think it was called Wisteria) in Mission Viejo Mall (California). I really wanted the Martha Stewart one that came out at Halloween, but it was right when I was packing things to move from Georgia back to California. So I thought I would wait until I got here to get it...assuming it would still be in stock at Michaels. Silly me! Why would I think Michaels would have stock

Lisa, thanks so much for sharing your fabulous loft!!! I always loved your 1st room and wondered from time to time what your room looked like while you were living in GA and then again when I noticed you had moved back to CA. You truly have a gift of designing. Do you mind telling me about the black piece sitting under the "family" plaque and your initial frame beside it on top of the white shelving unit below the clock (BTW, you were so sweet to tell me about that clock when you posted your 1st room. I was able to locate it and have enjoyed it.) I, too, have a black/white theme in my room.
Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration!

How lucky you are to have two whole rooms for your hobby! The loft is beautiful!

That black piece under "family" is actually an advent calendar from Target. I think I bought it in 2006 because I remember buying a mirrored one from there in 2007. The mirrored one definitely looks like Christmas, but I like to leave the black and white one up all year just for decoration.
The frame is just something I picked up from TJ Maxx and stuck an itial on the front of it (not even under the glass). I really didn't even intend on keeping it that way, but I've liked it and kept it that way.
