The BG looks like cork board to me!! That is so cool! And the stencil still makes the BG look like you painted on cork board! I will be watching the video to see how to use the pink Silks Glaze!
Good job and TFS!
I have to say my favorite parts are the triangles, the owl and the coloring artwork. Great job!
The luminarte glaze is gorgeous, and what a bonus that it acts as a resist! I love how you turned the stenciling in to a card. The owl is cute and matches so perfectly even though you used a different medium.
I love the way your background turned out. The design and colors are wonderful. TFS. Daria
Yes, I too thought this was a cork background. Love the fabulous look of the silks.
Cool card! The background has the look of cork board. Neat.

The background of this card is made on Mixed Media paper from a Strathmore Visual Journal. I used a Faber-Castell Pitt Pen to trace the outlines of the Sri Yantra stencil from the Sacred Geometry Series at Artistcellar.com. Then I painted it with Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glazes as a resist and used Vintage Photo and Picket Fence Distress Stains to complete the background. You can see a video about how I made the background on my blog at http://www.gaalcreative.com/2013/02/08/luminarte-silks-resist/. [gaalcreative.com]
I trimmed the background to fit a standard card base and added a purple ribbon. I stamped Hero Arts B4951 Owl and colored it with colored pencils. It is mounted with foam squares for dimension. The sentiment and banner are from Penny Black 30-104 Sweet Wishes. Green gemstones added as a finishing touch.
Thanks for looking! :-)
