Galleries: Cardmaking

For these cards, I started by stamping master boards on the Kraft cardstock. I tried using my Versamark ink pad but it didn’t really show up, so I switched to brown ink. Then I stamped the mugs on inchies and colored using glaze pens.

The tea cards gave me a bit of a headache because I wasn’t paying enough attention to what I was doing. I usually stamp, emboss and die cut elements for a bunch of cards on the weekend so I can bring the stuff to work and assemble cards during my lunch hour. I also usually make multiples of every card I make to send to OWH.

First problem – the initial layout was for the fold to be at the top of the card with the inchies in a line on some ribbon (like the coffee bean card). But I stamped the master board going the wrong way. So I figured I just flip the card. When I laid it out before adhering anything, I didn’t like it. So I put the inchies on a diagonal, which I liked but something was missing. So I added colored gems. So I get one fully assembled and I’m looking at it and the colors are off.

Second problem – I assembled the card using the blue/green base (see last picture) instead of the Kraft base. It took me a minute to figure out why the colors seem so off. So I had to peel the inchies and gems off the card and put them on the right card. ARG. I’ve got something else planned for the blue/green base.

The coffee card went much smoother. I added three different colors of ribbon and attached the inchies with foam squares.

Supplies:
Stamps – Fiskar and My Favorite Things
Ink – Versafine for black; Colorbox Chestnut
Ribbon from Micheal’s.
Gems – Recollections colored with Bic markers
Pens – Glaze by Sakura
