Project - NSD 1 pm layout: Wish
I have never been much of a stamper. While I love the look, the variety of stamps, inks and techniques has been keeping me from taking the plunge.
For National Scrapbook Day, I wanted to try something a little bit different. A challenge if you will. So I loaded up on a few clear cling stamps, 2 Hero Arts ink pads and some Zing embossing powders. What I found is that I love the look and it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be to add to my layouts.
First, the clear stamps really make it a snap to see exactly where you are stamping. Also, I was able to place them around the layout as I was designing before committing to the image. The Hero Arts ink left a nice, crisp image and the Zing added a nice layer of dimension and pop to my patterned paper.
I also found that my favorite stamps are geometric shapes and text. I love words! They are so versatile and work with my everyday and themed pages.
On this layout I used the chevron shape to create a down-arrow pattern to draw the eye around the page. I used a beige tone-on-tone Zing embossing powder to add a nice, shiny pop to the stamped image. It's bold, but not overpowering.
The line of script text just under the large photo highlights the focal point and serves as another horizontal line in the overall design. I also love to use text stamps to fill up blank sticker labels. In this page I added the word “photographs” to the journaling box. It draws the eye to the journaling area and underlines the “6” chipboard piece.
The next time you want to add something new to your layouts, try clear cling stamps. It's easy, I'm promise!
