This is surely one of the best LO's out there! There's just something so soothing and yet dramatic about this one. Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to share your talents.
So, so great, Lexi. I love how you do your own thing and it rocks every time!

Into my faves. So amazing
Project - it's the little things theme: small things
I love this theme. It translates to what I scrapbook about the most: our ordinary everyday lives. I love a page about a holiday or birthday celebration, but there is something magical about capturing simple, small moments and documenting them.
I came across this quote on pinterest (and couldn't find anyone to attribute it to, though I tried) and knew it was the perfect sentiment for the direction I wanted to go. The only thing was I didn't have a photo yet. This past weekend I had the rare opportunity for a few hours to myself. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday so I treated myself to a root beer float and thought with a smile, “it really IS the little things that make life great.” I snapped a photo with my camera phone and decided that would be what I would remember. How a sunny day and root beer float can sometimes make for a perfect day.
When typing the quote on the background paper I wanted one line to be more prominent so I tried my hand at handwriting it and typed the rest. That serves as my title as well.
Several of new Basic Grey snippet booklet and waterfall pack pieces were used here. I couldn't decide which ones to use so I decided to layer them. While keeping with the small theme I decided to use a smaller photo. A way to make a photo appear “bigger” is to layer various pieces underneath it as I did here. Two Peas exclusives used here are some printables (I love those flaps that can be stapled to a photo), the arrow (digging the hand drawn look) and the arrow clip (I can't stop using this clipped on photos).
The grid paper I typed some journaling on actually came out of a Basic Grey journaling book. The books have several sheets and they are perfect for typing on and layering. I added my own little caption to the photo here.
I added a few “little” embellishments, like the veneer arrows, a few tiny enamel dots and sequins.
When I was trimming down the background paper I trimmed a wee bit off. Ok. A lot off. I make a mistake (or several) on every layout! Instead of getting bummed, I took a cue from the colors in the layout and added a neutral black and white pattern to the edge. It adds interest and is floral, something I don't get to use a whole lot with my boy layouts.
Before I glued it all down I added some gold triangles with a mask…just because. No real good reason. I did make sure the direction of the arrows and triangles were all going the same.
Thanks for looking!
