Aimee, I use this same setup but I take the diffuser cap off my background light, move it much closer to the backdrop (which I obviously switch for a white one) and add a second identical backdrop light on the other side. I don't meter to check them as I can't turn them any brighter, I just meter for my keylight.

I JUST WAS ASKING YOU ABOUT YOUR SET UP FOR HIGH KEY IN ANOTHER POST YOU HAD. SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE QUESTION BUT HERE GOES. IS THIS THE SAME AS A HIGH KEY SETUP? WHAT IS YOUR STOP DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR MAIN LIGHT AND YOUR BACKGROUND LIGHT ON HIGH KEY? MAYBE THAT IS MY PROBLEM. WHAT IS THW WATTAGE OR KELVINS OF YOUR BACKDROP LIGHT? SORRY FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS. THANKS YOU FOR POSTING THIS. THEY ARE ALWAYS A GREAT HELP.

You obviously spent a lot of time doing this to show us. Thank you so much! This kind of insight is invaluable! Chris <img border='0' src='/images/icons/smile.gif'>

Thanks so much for showing this! As someone who is just starting to think ligts and backdrop... this is so Great!

Oh, thanks so much! It helps seeing how other people have it set up. I am going to have to set up in my dining room too (and will have to put up and take down lights, etc. when I need them...) and it is so helpful! Thanks for sharing!

Just thought I'd share my setup for the pics of Hope I've just posted. Please be aware that the room NEVER looks this messy when it's a regular client - this one was a friend who has seen my home in a worse state! The last photo shows how my dining room looks normally - it has an archway open to living room. Excuse crappy picture, our estate agent took it (I nicked this one off the website listing - we're selling our house) - I am using it because it shows the way the room looks now, with the wire across the top that I hang my backdrop on, and my softbox stored against the back wall. The room is 12'5“ x 11'4”. I hope this helps someone!
