Project - Tools | End of School Year Teacher's Album
Galleries: Scrapbooking, Altered Projects
For the past several years I have created an end of the year mini album for those teachers that have spent so much time and energy with my kids at the end of the school year. I've done it from Preschool through 1st grade. This year was my son's Kindergarten year, and his teacher was so wonderful. So I knew I'd be creating her a special album to let her know how much I, and the rest of the children and parents in her class appreciated her.
This year, I did something a little different than years past. Rather than housing the parent's personal notes to the teacher at the back of the book in a single envelope, I used the super cute, school-lined bags from Whisker Graphics to house each of their notes. Then I used a piece of ribbon, which I stapled with my tiny attacher to the note to peek out of the bag. This creates a more interactive album and keeps all of the parents notes right with the coordinating child's artwork, picture and note to the teacher.
For these projects I always reach for my Nestabilities dies to create adorable layered name-plates for each page. I just love how crisp and clean they cut and create a really polished look. And of course, I used my Silhouette Cameo to create my son's teacher's name for the cover of the album. I was thrilled with how well it cut the intricate and thin script font that I used, just like school cursive lessons. And of course, I can't forget my favorite tool that adds the finishing touch, my sewing machine. The stitching just adds that little extra texture and whimsy to take my little book to an extra special place.
Thanks so much for looking! :D
