Project - Shell Beach Katrina Memorial Cross by dboudreaux1 posted 07/27/10 at 05:38 PM Galleries: Scrapbooking Sunrise at Shell Beach, St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, where the eye of Hurrican Katrina passed and killed so many of the residents of the Gulf Coast, including the elderly residents of St. Rita's nursing home, who's names are engraved on a stone of those lost in the storm at this site. Capturing the sunrise at this site symbolizes to me the need to keep trudging on. The sun always rises no matter what, and we must continue to rise to the next day and what it may bring, beautiful or not. |
