This is a very clever, simple idea! I'm not the kind of "wind all ribbon on a spool" girl..way too much time involved. TFS
Very clever idea.
Cool...thanks for posting this. Nothing a little crop-a-dile couldn't handle either...that's probably what I'll use. I've been scratching my head about ribbon storage for a while now. Everything I've used just doesn't work for my little scraps of ribbon.
Faith to save the day! <img border='0' src='/graphics/mbicons/smilies_v2/thumbup2.gif'>
Project - My version of homemade ribbon rings

Not long ago a nice pea sent me a pattern to cut ribbon rings on my cricut with my SCAL. I was having problems getting my blade to cut the plastic folders I had cut up to use, the plastic was too thick, so I started to look for another way to do it.
I ended up cutting plastic folders (search for polypropylene folders on any office supply website) into 1x8 inch strips and punching a hole at one end with a hole punch. That way I can hang them from anything (I use binder clips). The rest of the strip I tried punching with my leave it to weaver punch. That worked for a while, but my hand was getting sore from punching them. So I tried my bind-it-all, punching holes down the length of the plastic strips. That worked and now I have lots of long ribbon rings to store my ribbons on! It works with any length ribbon and is a quick way to get it organized, just thread it through a hole on the strip.
I got different colored folders so that the ribbon can be organized by colors. The length of the strip really helps to space the ribbon out and lets me see what I have. It's a quick way to get ribbon of any length stored quickly but still be able to see it.
