I was inspired by the challenge by Jill Sprott to break out my mists and use them in diffent ways. I also had the mask used in the video, and pulled that out as well. For the background I mixed Mister Huey Dewey concentrated in the upper left corner, and Mister Huey Buttercup around the photograph and leading a bit down the page on the lefthand side. I searched for the right shade of yellow to run along the bottom of my page, but resorted to a heavier application of the Buttercup mist there as well. The same problem presented itself with the yellow borders, so I used the Buttercup mist to alter a white one. A resist white cardstock with a baby theme was cut down and misted for the photo mat, it made a nice soft transition. I originally planned on misting my alphabets, but just happened to have the proper color on hand. I love the watercolor effect that is acheived by using the mists in different ways and saturations. The quilt my daughter is snuggling is a duck one that was created by gma when she was born, hence the duck references throughout the layout…it is not that random of a creation, I promise. The journaling card showed 8 ducks with the word 8 printed and written…I added thickers on top to convert it to 18, and used my handwritting to alter the writen word as my daughter was approx. 18 months old in these photos. The felted brads from Making Memories were a perfect touch of warmth and fuzziness to emphisize her comfy quilt. A few bits of green for pop, and some brown in the journaling card and stamp help balance out the darkness in the photograph.
