Project - Mom's Butterscotch Pie by LLordDoucet posted 05/30/11 at 08:38 PM Galleries: Scrapbooking I LOVED the recipe album that Rebecca made for the Connecting with Creativity! It's definitely something I would like to do someday. In the meantime, her challenge really spoke to me because there are lots of favorite family recipes that we have "lost" since my mom passed away in 2008. I can actually remember thinking to myself, "I will never get to eat Mom's butterscotch pie again..." As it turns out, I was wrong... My sister and I have mastered (after SEVERAL failed attempts) the art of the butterscotch pie a la Mom. So when I saw this challenge, I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time baking with my lil sis so I could get some photos of this AMAZING pie! Then, I took the leftover pie to a crop that evening and shared it with all the girls... It was a nice way to spread the love :) |

Beautiful layout and such a touching story. There's a lot of everyday things that we don't realize are so important to us until it's gone. I wish I had thought to write down my grandmother's recipes. Just another reason why scrapbooking is so important. :)
