Project - Valentines Theme: Love Us
My husband and I do not really celebrate Valentine's Day with each other. My thought is that we need to show each other how much we love each other every day of the year, not just on February 15th! But in honor of this day of love showing, I figured a layout dedicated to the love I feel for him everyday, would be just the thing. Maybe I will even give it to him on Valentine's Day. And then take it back for our album.
This was a photo I took of us at a wedding by just holding the camera out and seeing what we got. Amazingly, there was actually something in focus! I cropped it to a square to get rid of the distracting parts on the side. I like that it has a little bit of a playful feel to it. I wanted to have a sort of banner on the page made out of hearts, so I hand cut different sized hearts out of various patterned papers and arranged them under the photo. I machine stitched the hearts together to create the banner. My title was cut out using my Cameo in two different fonts for fun layering and to add dimension, I added wood hearts, die cuts, and chipboard. The bits and pieces really add a little oomph to the page.
I was inspired to create this page from the My Minds Eye Lucky In Love Collection. The paper I used for my background was from this collection. I love the light blue with the pink that seems to bleed through. I found that much of the American Crafts XOXO line works well with the My Minds Eye. And what better shape to say love than a heart!
