Project - Themed Projects : {our new library} by Sheri Mae posted 11/15/09 Galleries: Scrapbooking
We love our new neighbourhood. We've now been in our new house for 3 weeks! One of the things on our list of things to do was to visit our new library to get our library cards and check out some new bedtime stories for the girls. I am not sure who loves the library more, me or Alyssa! What I love about it is the building. Being in a small town we're treated to the older buildings and our new library is for sure one of them! The original building was built in 1913 and then added onto in 1977-78.

The front steps of the library looked so inviting, so I asked my oldest daughter to sit on them. It made for some great pictures! Growing up I loved visiting my local library, so I hope my girls love their new library.

With the theme still all about stickers, I went ahead and created myself some more stickers.

To do this in PSE, I did the following:

1. Open the image that I wanted to make a sticker out of.

2. From the main menu, select Edit > Stroke (Outline) Selection

3. In the Stroke dialog box I either typed in 10-30 px for the Width (all depended on how thick I wanted the white border to be), then for Color, I selected white. For Location, I checked off Outside, so that my border appeared outside of the image. Everything else I left the same.

4. Click OK.

For this layout, I even made a brad & the journaling blocks look like a stickers! I also recoloured the trees to match the trees in my pictures, especially the bright red bush right by the steps; which my daughter picked some berries off! I also recoloured the line around the journaling blocks to match the door on the library. Lots of fun little things for this layout!

Credits: Background papers (green dotted & lined paper): Michelle Underwood's Wrapped Around Your Finger, Alpha (new), library card, brad: Jen Allyson's - Study Hall kit, Alpha (our) buttons, flowers tab, journaling block, arrow: Meredith Fenwich's Little Wonders kit, Trees: Jen Allyson's Spot Color Element Stickers, Calendar Stamp: Tia Bennett's A Calendar Year.

Thanks for looking!

Sheri
|
