Terrific card! I love the two-layered dress; it's so elegant. I like the way the embossing on the dress is repeated on the black layer. Thank you for the details.

ITA--getting comments is truly 'neat'! And your card is super! Thanks for sharing all the how-tos!

A pure 'B&W' piece for a wedding shower? Who'd a thunk of that? Well you (obviously)! And it so works!!! By changing the angle of my screen all the embossing shows up.

Very cool technique for the dress. Bet it would be fun to do the bottom layer in a bright color & soften it with the (embossed) vellum one. TFS!!!

Oh my gosh! It's so neat to get comments! ;-)
The black cardstock was dry embossed, then the white and black cardstock with the sentiment was layered over it.
The dress is 2 layers, one of white cardstock, and the top is vellum. The vellum is embossed and then it's all tied up with a little silver bow. The dress is on pop dots so it pops up from the card and the pearls are flat back sticky pearls.
Thanks again for all the comments!

This is so classy! Love the dry embossing and the bow!

Good Job and TFS!!

Great elegant card! The embossing and color scheme is perfect for the bridal shower card! Is that vellum on the dress and did you emboss the vellum or the paper?

Hi Kate,
Thanks so much! This was a free clip art image of a dress that I downloaded. I have a Silhouette so I pulled the image into my Silhouette Studio and made a cut file from it myself.
Can you do that sort of thing with a Cricut?

This is my first attempt at uploading a project! I hope I do it right. I just finished this card for my niece's black and white wedding shower.

I used a white card base. Cut a piece of black cardstock with 1/4 inch borders and embossed it with Sizzix swirls and dots. Rounded the corners. The center border is a piece of black cardstock ontop of white cardstock and stamped with a CTMH stamp. For the dress, I cut the shape on my silhouette in white cardstock and vellum. Embossed the vellum with Sizzix folder. Used glue dots to attach to card stock. Embellished with silver ribbon and 3 flat back pearls. Attached dress to card with pop dots.
