Project - Jazz Trio by fleurish posted 10/06/12 at 08:54 PM Galleries: Scrapbooking This was originally done for the Faber Castell Challenge. I applied Golden modeling paste, untinted, through a hand cut stencil onto a 9 x 12 journal page. (I often glue 2 pages together with YES bookbinders paste which gives me a board like page. I then gesso this surface. The acrylics of the gesso and the paste bond together better than on untreated paper.) I left the pasted shape out to dry overnight and then applied color with gelato sticks, colored pencils, water colors, water color pencils, and big brush markers, building up layers of color. Often the gelato was applied, then water sprayed on, allowing the gelato to run around the shapes of the stenciled paste. The gold is almost pure gelato. The collage was put together last. The picture is of the Jazz trio formed by my Grandfather, Father and Uncle. Thanks For Looking. |
