This is absolutely incredible! Your tikis are brilliant. You did such a beautiful job in all the detail work and I am just in awe. Gotta find me some tikis! <img border='0' src='/graphics/mbicons/smilies_v2/thumbup2.gif'> Using the shells in the center of the flowers is genius.

Project - Enchanted Tiki Room by nancyburke posted 08/06/08 at 06:23 PM Galleries: Scrapbooking This page took me “only” four days to finish. I had the stuff out on my desk with a brown cardstock background, but just could not get it to work. I started over with the blue background pp from MME and it finally all fell into place. The bamboo are scraps I cut from a placemat on sale for $1 at Pier One. All their summer stuff is on clearance! The tiki guy silhouettes and lazer cut leaves are from Hawaii (I found them at a Hilo Hatte store at The Block at Orange Mall in CA.) I backed the tiki guys with various papers, did a bit of pen work for the detail, and added punched mini Mickeys. WHEW! glad this is done! Journaling reads: My most vivid childhood memory of Disneyland in California has always been The Enchanted Tiki Room. When Andy and I took the girls to Walt Disney World in Florida for the first time in 2002, I was excited to go back to the Tiki Room to see if it was just as I had remembered. For some reason, seeing it as an adult, it seemed louder and more obnoxious that I remembered!Maybe it is because of the changes and addition of a certain, more opinionated bird (Iago)! For the trip in 2008, Anna was the onlt one who would even go to the attraction with me. What a good sport!" Thanks for looking! |
