what may seem like a very random topic for a layout, but am so glad i did it. all about the first time i had dr. pepper. funny thing to remember - and now document - i know. a special memory to me as my father died unexpectedly when i was young. everytime i drive by this place, i can't help but smile. this is a 12x12 layout, but scanned odd due to the hinges that wrap around the side of the cardstock. thanks for looking! - mel :)

I scanned a Dr. Pepper label and then altered the color of it through Photoshop to achieve a more vintage color. I printed the label on a transparency and placed it on top of the two photos, affixing with the hinges.

Cardstock : Bazzill Basics
Patterned Paper : Scenic Route Paper Co.
Stickers : Chatterbox , Scenic Route Paper Co. , American Crafts
Pen : American Crafts

It appears old and run down, but in my memory it maintains a special place. After “helping” my dad and Uncle Howard with chores at my grandma's farm - I must've been 6? - I was to be rewarded with a can of soda on the ride back home. The excitement was almost too much to bear! Even then I had liked trying new things and I selected a can of Dr. Pepper. Although I didn't like the taste - and still don't! - remembering how special I felt that day brings a smile to my face. And now the location of this first taste is getting a well-deserved face lift. Hopefully to create a memory for another little girl.
