Every year I make a new piece of Christmas art using digital kits.

This year, I decided to add a few more supplies and make it a hybrid piece of Christmas art.

I purchased a 5x5 black frame with a white mat from Target.

In Photoshop I opened a new 5x5 document at 300 dpi.

I opened the Reciept paper from the Antiquities kit and resized it to 5x5 inches at 300 dpi and copied and pasted it onto my new document.

I opened the Tree #8 from the Joyeux Noel Tree kit and copied and pasted it onto the center of the Receipt paper.

I opened the border from the Urban Junque Christmas Kit and resided it to 5.5 x 5.5 and copied and pasted it around the tree. I used the Free Transform command to drag it out a little so that only the bottom part of the border was visible. (see Photoshop screen shot)

I printed it out on matte paper and cut it out.

I cut out the swirls from the 7 Gypsies textured rub-on pack and rubbed on the glue part. Then I placed the black velvet sheet over it and rubbed it on until the glue was completely covered.

I added a rhinestone star at the top of the tree.

I used a charcoal pencil to draw scallops around the tree and smudged it with the tip of my finger.

I opened the Song and Dance red polka dot paper from the Party On kit and the Line one (black with white words) paper from the Paris Metro kit. I resized both papers to 4x4 inches at 300 dpi and printed them out on matte photo paper.

I cut strips from those papers as well as the Basic Grey papers and the Cosmo Cricket paper and a couple of vintage papers I had.

I glued them to the white photo mat and drew lines on the borders with a charcoal pencil and smudged those lines with my finger. I also drew lines with the charcoal pencil down the outside of the tree and smudged those lines with my finger.

I taped the tree to the opening of the photo mat and put it back in the frame.
