Ever since I saw the 7 Gypsies city board book shapes, I've wanted to make a canvas for my studio mimicking those shapes. Our theme this month is patterned paper so this was the perfect opportunity to blend the two - patterned papers and those board book shapes.

I used a standard 9x12 canvas which was pre-gessoed.

I used mostly Ranger paints with a few Golden paints. To adhere my papers I used Golden matte medium and heavy gel medium for all the yellow pieces which are the manilla photo cards from 7 Gypsies painted and stamped on.

I also outlined every piece with a soft charcoal pencil and smudged it with my finger.

The bird on the top and the scroll on the sun are on the new bird stamp set by 7 Gypsies released in July at Summer CHA 09. All the words (except NOW which are vintage letters) are from the DISCLAIMER stamp set by 7 Gypsies also released at Summer CHA 09.

Here's a list of what I used:

paint - Ranger and Golden

shapes inspiration - 7 Gypsies cityscape book

paper - 7 Gypsies

stamps - 7 Gypsies

Ink - black (Stazon); red (Memories Cherry Red); teal & pink (Ranger Distress)

tape on edges - 7 Gypsies

ribbon behind NOW - 7 Gypsies

dominos - paris flea market
