Project - Dynamic Duo

I wanted a background paper that was a yellow print so that it would play off the yellow in my sons shirt. I found a fabulous paper in Michelle's “That Was Yesterday” kit (fig. 3) but it was yellow and grey and I really wanted it to be yellow and white so I changed it. Here's what I did:
Use the magic wand tool (fig 4) and click on one of the grey areas. If you right click where you've selected with the magic wand tool, you'll get a list of options, choose “Similar” (fig 5). This should select all the areas that are the same color, in this case grey. Use the “Command J” shortcut (Control J on a PC) to copy what you have selected and jump it to it's own layer. Start a new layer above it by clicking on the New Layer Icon button at the bottom of the Layers Palette and fill it with white by going to Edit menu and choosing Fill and then from the dialog box choosing Fill with White. (fig.6)
I also distressed the yellow part of the paper so that it became a more faded image.
