Project - All Grown Up by Shannon Tidwell posted 01/23/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking Does it ever just hit you that you are ‘all grown up’? It happened to me last weekend when my husband and I took a quick little road trip. It took me a while to figure out why….we've taken several trips without the kids. But this was the first time that they were old enough that I didn't have to worry about them (much). There are no babies anymore, they can all speak, go to the bathroom, eat, play on their own. Of course I missed them, but not that all consuming miss when they were babies. Know what I mean?? Okay, about the layout. I started with a stack of papers that didn't really go together, but I wanted them to. Makes for a bold and interesting page I think. I cut 1" strips of each pattern and started building my background. I alternated the lengths from top and bottom as I went, just going with what looked right at the moment. The fact that the photo tucked behind two flaps was purely by chance. I used the vertical lines as the base for my title. I added a little pocket next to the photo with my journaling and a few little do-dads. And a feather of course. I backed the whole layout on black cardstock to make it pop. |
