Project - Snow Angel
by Shannon Tidwell
When we talked about going to Colorado and seeing the snow all Grayson could think about was making a snow angel. So of course this needed a page of it's own.
I chose to use a bold background patterned on the top 2/3's of the layout. With such a large pattern I decided to keep my embellishments on the small side…to help balance it out. Not really sure that I consciously made that decision…or just looking back I can see that's what I did.
For the flag border I used the Jenni Bowlin Blue Ribbon Punch. I just kept the little tails and ditched the centers. I punched them all out of the same patterned paper, but since it was double sided (with multi patterns on the back) I flipped a few over for a fun touch.
I layered the photo with an Elle's Studio notecard. I wanted the ‘the events of today’ flag to show and not be covered by the photo, so I used my craft knife to cut it out a bit and layer it over the photo. For the rest of the embellishments, I just kept adding and adding. The glass pebbles are an older product that I found in my stash. Don't you love it when you find a treasure?
On the bottom half I wanted a subtle pattern so I used some of the Studio Calico Kraft Star Stickers on my Kraft background. They were just a tad darker and added the perfect amount of contrast without being too busy and overpowering the top of the layout.
