So very pretty! I just love bird designs--and these colors are among my all-time favorites to see together! *sigh*

Kim - the card is lovely. And I am so going to have to try using colored pencils and OMS on embossed images. I just got a Big Kick and have been playing with it. That's just a great idea. TFS.

Lovely soft card!

Lora,

This is basically the "technique" I used:

colored pencils/gamsol

except instead of using gamsol, I used plain old baby oil (an idea I found on the Stamping board). And I didn't use Prismacolor pencils because I just bought them & haven't sharpened them yet, and it just seemed like too much trouble.

I don't know what the difference is between gamsol & baby oil. I've never used gamsol.

I started with the bird & outlined it with the darkest blue I had & then penciled in some lighter blue, then dipped the paper blending stump right into the bottle of baby oil, tapped off the excess, and started blending dark to light.

With the reeds, I picked out about 4 different shades of green and just started laying down the colors as they looked pleasing to me, blending with baby oil when I felt like it. The baby oil just blends the shades together & kind of erases the pencil marks. I worked in a circular motion, for the most part (as the video teaches), and used different sizes of blending stumps. I just had fun with it. You cannot mess it up!

I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, getting ready to hunker down for T.S. (or Hurricane) Fay!

LOVE your card. I'm going to have to get this folder and the way you colored it is beautiful.

I've never used baby oil before (actually this is the first time I've even heard of it). Could you please give more details on how you blend w/ the oil.

Oh...I'm from S.Fla too...Jupiter. Where are you?

Anne, thanks. The stickles didn't show up too well in the photos, but I really stickled the heck out of it & it's really glittery IRL. Those darn stickles, I start out intending to just put a little bit here & a little bit there & end up stickling everything in sight because they're so fun!

cardstamper, I didn't even break out the Prismacolor pencils for this - I used Crayola colored pencils & blended with baby oil. Nothing fancy.

Thanks again, everyone.
