I am so excited to share my very first 2 Peas layout!
With my pastel color theme I immediately thought *watercolor* and the use of the Faber Castell gelatos in the shop to create that look.
Being a student in Wilna's Art Class has been such a major boost to my overall creativity that I find myself wanting to use new techniques any chance I get!
Using Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm patterned papers was a lot of fun along with watercolors.
I started the idea of my layout from this quote I found on Pinterest: “life is a balance of holding on and letting go…” I was (still am) a very young Mom. Now that my girls are getting older, I am in that unfamiliar stage of watching them grow their wings and letting go while wanting to hold on. I thought that the Dear Lizzy “Wishbone” paper anchored my page literally and figuratively. I think the whole process of making this layout became very emotional the more I got into the process. So I wrote a very heartfelt note to my girls on 2 4x6 cards I cut from the Yes, Please collection by Amy Tangerine. I tucked it behind my photo and papers inside of a glassine bag. I normally prefer to keep my heartfelt journaling private.:)
I finished embellishing my page with wood veneers from Freckled Fawn and Studio Calico as well as some fun tags from Elle's Studio.
The lovely pencil looking embellishments of the ampersand and “lovely” on the watercolor are actually rub-ons from Amy Tan's Yes, Please collection–I loved how it all came together.
Thanks for looking! I hope you are inspired to create!
