Project - Shape Your World by Fevvers posted 05/07/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking My cousin Shelly is a nurse, and a few years ago, after realizing just how saturated the job market had become here in Hawaii, she made a life-changing decision and moved to Maryland. We miss her like crazy, and these days, Facebook is how we keep in touch. When she shared this photo with me on Facebook, I fell in love with it. That blanket of flowers behind her is just so pretty! Although people often dream of traveling to Hawaii, I look at this photo and dream of a real mainland spring. When I first saw this photo, I immediately knew that I wanted to scrapbook it, but I felt a little intimidated. The flowers in the photo are a little more purple than pink, and purple is a real challenge for me to use on layouts. I decided to incorporate just a bit of purple on the layout, working it in by adding paint to the background and over chipboard letters in the title. Using other colors on the page helped to downplay the impact of the purple. What I love most about this page is that it feels like Shelly. :) |
