Project - Happy Fourth of July by Fevvers posted 06/25/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking There are lots of ways of celebrating the Fourth of July. In our family, it usually involves a barbecue, a few games, and the hallowed American pastime of blowing stuff up in the driveway. I had a little fun with the journaling on this page, linking the antics of the kids to a few of their “rights” and “freedoms.” I used the Jenni Bowlin Wren collection here, which may not scream “Fourth of July!” when you initially see it, but it really is an all-American collection. As I discovered while creating this page, it's actually perfect for Fourth of July layouts. At the top of the layout, I lined up a series of fours, using the numbers as a design element. It's something I've been wanting to try for a while, and I finally got my chance. I had fun creating the multicolored title, by misting Rockabye Thickers with Mister Huey's spray ink. I laid out the letters in an cardboard box, separating half on one side and half on the other. I sprayed one side red, and the other side blue. When the letters dried, I put them back together again to create the title. Thanks for looking! |
