I love the heart background & the colored hearts scattered around. :)
Oh yes, as we approach Thanksgiving you have once again reminded me to be thankful for the blessing of the example of a compassionate heart. Thank you Jill.
Such a pretty design with those hearts. Great page.

Project - It Starts at Home by Fevvers posted 11/19/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking Being a firm believer in the Golden Rule, I also believe that compassion begins at home. I don't think that it is a coincidence that all of the women in our family have embraced vocations that center upon lives spent in service to others. I can pinpoint the source of this – that sweet little old lady in the photo, my grandmother. Her legacy continues through my own daughter, who spends quite a bit of her time volunteering in various ways. I know she'll raise her own children with the same values. Thus, the title of this layout is “It Starts at Home,” and the journaling, which I tucked on the “Pull Here” tab behind the photo, shares just what that has meant to the women in our family. I based the design of the layout on two main sections – the photo (and accompanying papers and accents) and the die-cut hearts. I placed the photo over layers of patterns that feature similar colors to the clothes we are wearing in the photo. I didn't want there to be a predominance of dark blues and reds, however, as they might overwhelm the layout, so I used lighter hues – sky blue and soft pink – against a neutral background. After placing the die-cut on the layout, I filled in a few of the negative spaces using the leftover heart pieces from the cutting process. I misted over the little hearts first, and placed a pop dot on the back of each one. Thanks for looking! Jill |
