October is stamping month at Two Peas in a Bucket, and each day of the Stamping A to Z [twopeasinabucket.com] feature offers ideas and inspiration. Today's letter is “L,” which, in this case of this page, stands for “layering.” I layered stamped images over each other for a funky effect.

Using texture stamps from American Crafts and Tim Holtz and dye inks from Jenni Bowlin for Ranger, I began by stamping a base texture, and then I stamped over it with a different texture. In addition to layering stamped images over each other, I also layered stamped images over a pattern, as you can see I did with a woodgrain stamp over lined paper, next to the layout's title.

By working in stamped images alongside patterned squares, the basic grid approach to the page is given an extra kick of color and texture. Spooky.

Thanks for looking!
