Project - The Bean
by Jill Sprott
This summer my daughter had the opportunity to travel to Chicago on a school trip. In the weeks prior, we researched her destination, a process that included watching movies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Source Code. The Bean was on her list of must-see Chicago landmarks. When she got home, I asked her about The Bean, hoping to live vicariously through her travels, but all I got out of her was, “It was cool.” I worked her oh-so-descriptive statement into the journaling on this page nonetheless. :)
Since “The Bean” is also known as “The Cloud Gate,” I reached for my Studio Calico mistable pieces here, incorporating a few misted clouds on the layout. The sewn border in the middle of the page was simple to create. I just punched a series of circles from the Basic Grey Cottage “Backgammon” paper. Every A-side circle is backed by a B-side circle. After adhering the circles to the page, I sewed a few flowing lines across them.
Thanks for looking!
