Galleries: Cardmaking

In honor of World Card Making Day, Elle's Studio has released 28 “Everyday Greetings” sentiments, which are perfect for cards. (In fact, I'm giving a free download away on my blog [wordplaywordwork.blogspot.com] this weekend!)

I created this card using the “thanks” sentiment. I trimmed the letters from the printed sheet and arranged them on a rectangle of text-based patterned paper, which was backed by two other layers of patterned paper. I raised the letters a bit by placing a pop dot under each one. Under the letters, I stamped “1000000” using “1” and “0” numeral stamps, and then I stitched across the die-cut letters that I placed at the base of the stamped number. I used a scallop punch at the bottom of the card, so that when it is folded, the color within the card (the same color as the “a” in “thanks”) peeks through.

Thanks for looking!
