Nancy, I almost never venture to the PeaNut Praise board but tonight I'm here for a few minutes.
'Wanted to LYK that my FIL calls DS a "different ability" because my 30yo SIL with DS has a lot of DIFFERENT things that she does. Not the same, not better, not worse, just different.

I know this layout is kind of a soapbox layout, but it was spurred by two things - the eloquence of a 19 year old speaker with DS at a cross-disability event (she's quoted on my layout), and then yesterday's comment by a mom at a playground that reminds me that some people see disability as inability. They're not synonymous.
