Challenge - Digital Challenges : Use Digital "Punches" by hyperstarre posted 04/14/10 Galleries: Scrapbooking One of my favorite Photoshop tools? The clipping mask! Not only is it the tool you use when scrapping with a template, it can turn a variety of things into digital "punches." I used the Banner Cuts and Borderlines by Laina Lamb here for my layout - they're meant to be used with a digital die cutter like a Silhouette (they really make me want one to use in my paper scrapping!), but they also come with a variety of file types, like pngs, which i used as my "punches" here. I cut a bunch of the banner shapes, and layered some of them over each other for a fun border. I also used 2 of her Borderlines to add more fun borders! I loved the fun, springy colors in Michelle Underwood's I Heart Spring kit, so I used those papers for my design. You can use other types of digial elements as clipping masks - brushes are a great one. You can also use the shape tool, or even text to "punch" elements digitally - the possibilities are endless! This week, have fun playing with digital "punches" and have fun with them! :) |
