Challenge - Digital Challenges : Using Curves "the day we flew" by Chelsea Parsons posted 07/22/09 Galleries: Scrapbooking This weeks challenge is one that I never do without! To use the curve adjustment layer in photoshop. First you can find it in Layer> New Adjustment Layer>Curves. Basically is brightens whites, darkens darks and pops your grays. It's your caffeine for photos! I think it turns a boring photo into a cool photo. You can use curves adjustment on colour and black and white. With my photo I have chosen to do black and white. I have added a screen shot of my Mac with the photo before and after. You simply push the line up and down in places till you get the desired effect. I have included a screen shot of where I push the graph line up and down too but I think it all comes down to experimenting and seeing what you like. You aren't limited to using the curve tool on photos in a layout. Sometimes i use it on photos of layouts when they are dreadfully dingy and dark. Instant sun! If you can include a photo of your picture before hand I'd love to see it to check out the difference. Love Chelsea |
