Challenge - Digital Challenges : use a filter to simulate by Sande Krieger posted 09/03/08 Galleries: Scrapbooking  This weeks challenge is to use a filter to simulate "motion" in your layout. In Photoshop or PHotoshop Elements you can find the Motion Blur filter by going to: Filter>Blur>Motion Blur I used this filter on the kids on the right side of the teeter-totter so it would look like the big kids on the left were propelling them upward. Here's how I did it. 1. I copied the background layer of the photo by pressing Control J (Command J on the Mac). 2. I used the Lasso tool to select the kids on the right side of the teeter-totter. 3. I went to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur and I increased the blur until I got the amount I wanted. The reason I did this on a copy of the background layer (or photo) is so that I could reduce the opacity if later on I thought I had too much blur. You guys are so creative, I can't wait to see what you come up with.    |
