Challenge - Weekly Challenge : "Make it Masculine" (True Grit) by JenGallacher posted 05/08/09 Galleries: Scrapbooking The new line for boys from Making Memories completely inspired this challenge. Joey was an avid fan of anything military, and I knew I had to get my hands on some of that awesome flocked camo pattern paper. The other masculine elements on this layout are the sheer "man" symbol, the cork, the star shapes, the blue grid pattern paper, the tree bark embossed circles, and the acrylic arrow. Find a way to make your layout masculine for this challenge. Use a masculine theme. Use masculine papers. Use a masculine photo. Just focus on the boys in your life! Just a few hints on the layout. I knew the journaling would be visible through the sheer "man" shape, but I changed the font to bold to be more legible. I also made sure the orange brad went through an "o" so that the words still make sense. I embossed the tree bark circle stamp with brown, green, and orange embossing powder, let them dry and then punched them out with a 1.5" circle punch. I'm glad I got the chance to write down some of Joey's love for soldier things. Now show me what you've got!! :) |
