Challenge - Weekly Challenge- Make your own embelishment by JennyChesnick posted 08/26/11 Galleries: Scrapbooking, Stamping, Cardmaking, Packaging Hey Peas! This week I am challenging you to make your own embellishment. Your medium is your choice! I want you to think outside of the box and come up with something fun to share!! In the photos below you will see two quick and easy ways to make two “flowers”. The first being the pretty blue ribbon trim circle. I get asked a lot about these believe it or not and they are super simple to make! All you need is some trim, a hot glue gun & a circle of paper, felt, chipboard or what not. Simply start on the edge of your circle and glue the trim around and around and around (you get the picture) I like to tuck my trim tight to get a more fluffy effect. For the zipper flower you will need some zipper trim, a circle of paper or felt etc and a hot glue gun. I first trimmed off the excess fabric on the zipper trim to make my petals thin. I cut 4 inch strips and then folded and glued them (as shown) I layered 3 together (as shown) and then another 3 on top of them to create my flower petal base. Using a coordinating trim I simply wound it into a circle gluing as I went then attached that to my base. Upload your project using your handmade embellishment by next Thursday at 11:59 CST. Be sure to check the correct challenge box when you upload. By participating you have a chance to win a $5 Two Peas gift certificate. The winner will be posted on the Garden Girl blog next Friday. Thanks for playing! |
