Such a fun looking page!
Shannon, this is happy and fun and full of so many COOL deatils.
those sequins are so cool. Love those big bold strokes you always include. I just imagine you with a big paintbrush that shoots out sequins sweeping it across the page. Very nice.
Great layout! I can't wait to give this challenge a try.
Challenge - Joy Ride

I love patterned paper! Lately I've been reaching for more muted patterned papers for my backgrounds…this time I tried to push myself a little and went with a bright yellow background. It has a light chevron pattern that keeps it from being too overwhelming for the photos. Had it been a busy pattern I don't think it would have worked. I think the almost neon yellow makes my bright photos pop off the page though!
I used a strip of grey polka dot patterned paper to help ground my photos. I didn't want to ‘mat’ them, but I felt like they needed a base. I also stitched around the photos to create a frame of sorts.
You'll notice some torn tape and patterned paper around the edge. I started with full strips of paper and tape, then stitched. I felt like the wide strips were too much for the page. So I tore off the edges that were on the inside of the stitching…just leaving the bit on the outside.
You can also see that I went a little old school with the top photo. I wanted to include it on the page, but I didn't want to take up the room of the full 4x6…so I cut around the subject matter and adhered it so it came out of the other two photos.
I embellished with some of my favorite “go-to's”….little flags, big flags, a few die cuts, tape, and sequins.
So even though this page was a little out of my comfort zone with the bright yellow background I kept it ‘mine’ by using some of my favorite embellishing techniques.
