This is such a fun page, Shannon! I love the little flags around the base lines!! :)
One more comment: my son was on the same team this year= Dodgers. :)
I (obviously) have these papers, but I would have never though of the cool way you've used them, Shannon. So completely AWESOME!!

Challenge - Mixing in Themed Patterned Paper: Baseball Buds by Shannon Tidwell posted 08/31/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking Hi and welcome to this week's Weekly Challenge! This week I am challenging you to put a little themed patterned paper in the mix! Sometimes themed papers can be harder to use…without your page ending up looking to ‘themed’ or ‘matchy-matchy’. In my example I mixed a few themed items along with a few generic patterns(grid, stripe, hexagons, lined and chevron). I think this helped the page not look to uniform. The large baseball field background was actually cut from a 12x12 paper. I thought it made a great background, but was a little overwhelming in it's full form. So first I trimmed around the foul lines…then went a little further and trimmed it down to 8 1/2 x 11. That way I didn't have quite as much outfield to fill.:) To keep the themed stickers from looking too one-dimensional I placed pop-dots under them. I thought the yellow machine stitching added a fun touch, too! CHALLENGE: Include any themed patterned papers on your layout. You could try mixing them with ‘non-themed’ papers, too! Make sure to check the box for the right challenge when you upload. |
