Challenge - Weekly Challenge | A Color Challenge! by amyheller posted 11/02/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking These are my favorite kinds of challenges! Color! Today I wanted to focus our weekly challenge on a palette based on an image I found on Pinterest here [pinterest.com] . I've also attached the photo after my layout for easy reference. It's a very simple shot of some beautiful hues that feel like a transition from summer to fall, which is perfect timing for this time of the year. I recently mentioned how I've been very sentimental recently about my kids and how quickly they are growing up. It made me think about all of the first days of school that my daughter has had since she was just 5 years old going into 1st grade, and it's 5, now she's a big 5th grader! After I found the color image I wanted to use for my challenge, I knew that the new Basic Grey Soleil collection would be a super starting point for my page since it has the soft orange, pinks and lavendars that are in the color palette. While it's mostly a beach-themed collection, there's a lot of more generic pieces that I knew that my daughter would love today, like the peace signs and the arrows. So once I decided a few items from that collection, I began to scour my stash for the other colors I was in search of, primarily, orange, green and greys. I found some perfect pieces from Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic collection alton with Thickers in green and glittery silver - perfect for my pre-teen girl.
