LOVE IT! Wish I had seen this before I put my bucket through a minute ago!
Such a clean, eye-catching layout! I have a hard time believing that is your dd--she's so grown up! I really like the mix of banners on this--the two together is awesome. :)

I admit that I picked this week's collection because I liked the banner paper in the paper pad. That was my driving force. I have spent a few weeks toying with this collection, moving it around on my table and pushing it this way and that to find just the right layout.
I was really attracted to the Heidi Grace Sweet Whimsey collection [twopeasinabucket.com] at the last CHA show. I was really excited to see her back in action and see some of Heidi's great art again. I think that the little fairy girls in the collection were adorable and the other designs fun and playful. The colors are pastel and light. It is overall a very girly collection, but I could easily see myself using it for other non-girl ideas (like Kelly Goree's project [twopeasinabucket.com] using a girl collection for a non-girl layouts). I could see this Heidi Grace collection being used for summer sherbet, parties, showers….. Lots of ideas.
So I said that the main thing that attracted me was the banner and I knew I wanted to use it. There are so many pieces to the rest of the collection. Several different paper pads, with all different papers and textures in each, some die cut papers, a stack of die cut letters, a paper pad with just die cuts, and then a whole handful of embellishments. It ranges from letter stickers, to brad tops, photo corners, and transparency overlays. To be honest, this time, I was actually a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices and how best to showcase all of these great pieces in just one layout sample. So I just chose a simple background paper (its a B-side of a glittered paper) and put it onto kraft cardstock, and of course used that banner that I wanted so badly to use and for the rest of it, cut out parts and pieces of a bunch of other papers to create the other banner and the strips at the bottom. Basically, I took my basic layout ingredients (the kraft cardstock, letter stickers and labels) and incorporated them into the collection.
I do love all of the pieces of this collection. I think that you could take even just one paper pad and use it for a long time. I don't think that the pieces all have to be used together. As I said, its a bit overwhelming. But I do like that you could be taking out pieces of the die cut pad [twopeasinabucket.com] for a long time and using them here and there in all sorts of different projects. The Alpha paper pad [twopeasinabucket.com] alone could last a long time and through a whole album's worth of layouts.
I am adding into the picks this week the letter stickers from October Afternoon [twopeasinabucket.com]. I feel like the colors went really well with the collection, it helped me to bring in a bit of blue (aqua more specifically) and yellow in as they are missing from the basic color palette of the collection.
