I have a lot of pool photos. And as a result collect a lot of pool, swimming themed papers and products hoping that I can make layout pages of all of these photos look just a bit different. There are so many of our memories captured in our pool and I don't want all of these to look the same in every layout. So it was with much joy that I picked this Sun Kissed collection [] from Bo Bunny this week.
I like that its not all about pool or swimming. Its about summer and all of the joys of summer. I decided that it was really perfect for some of my pool layouts, with the sun and whimsical summer icons. Not all of my pool photos have to placed on specifically pool/water themed papers and products. It is rather fun to take them out of the context of the theme a bit, and just use some fun summer products.

I was especially drawn to the sun icons in this collection. They are everywhere, repeated in a lot of different sizes, forms and colors. I love that. I had originally thought to use more than one on this layout, but then came across the sun rays paper []and knew right away that I wanted to use it as the center of this layout. With no other patterned papers around or along side of it to distract from its clear message. So I cut it down to fit within the confines of my 8.5x11 2 page style and made it the center of my whole layout. The blue and orange sun [] is actually cut from the back of one the other papers, its a part of a 4 part paper. When I first laid it down on the layout, it didn't lay flat, and so when I went to attach it, I decided to machine sew around the inner circle of it rather than the edge so that it still had that 3D feeling. The whole outer edge sticks up a bit. I really liked the feeling that it gave to the page.

There are a lot of papers with all different icons and colors on them, and a lot of fun embellishments with this collection. A lot of water, suns, lemons and lemonade, flowers and a funny little bird. I didn't use a lot of the other items on this layout, but do love how things are repeated throughout all of the pieces. Especially the suns. I did use parts of one the papers that I cut up into tiles, each with a different icon on them. The little funny bird reminded me of my daughter on this layout, and how I felt about her at the moment this photo was taken. So I included it, though it may seem random to someone other than myself.

I added to the layout, the clouds paper from the journaling tablet [] (which has a great number of fun designs) and a corner torn from the water paper. Both help to paint the overall picture of the layout and the moment.

The stickers [] that coordinate with the collection has 2 colors of letter stickers, lime and purple. Both of which are in a fun silly font that I found charming. Neither color really went well with my layout, and so I went searching for others to match. The Glittered Rainboots []thicker felt just perfect to me, adding a bit of the extra shine to the layout. As well as the Doodlebug Jack and Jill letters [], and then just a couple of my other normal standby alphabet stickers.
