Video - Kristina's Picks 8.27.10 (we're sisters)
This week's pick is the new Bella Blvd release [twopeasinabucket.com]. I love Stephanie's great artwork on all of these collection. They are fun and current and youthful. Like Stephanie herself. The all have colors that are bright, and could be mixed between collections if you need to. Each collection has double sided papers, where one of the sides has a generally more subtle pattern on it, and one that is rather bright, bold and full. There is a page of cut outs, icons that coordinate with the theme of its respective collection. The border sheet this time also has a set of blocks on it, a couple of title blocks and a couple of journaling blocks. So in just a few sheets of paper, you have a lot of different coordinating options for your projects. Nice value.
In addition, there are 2 12x12 sticker sheets [twopeasinabucket.com]. One of the sheets has a great cursive font alphabet, and a lot of other stickers—sayings, titles, icons, tabs, labels and an additional mini alphabet. I love the font. I just discovered this one. It is on all of the sheets from the last round of collections but I hadn't used it before. I layered my title on my sample with an older Bella Blvd letter sticker that I also love to use a lot. The other sticker sheet has larger labels, journaling labels, and titles on it. What I like most about the stickers is all that you get on each sheet. You wouldn't want to use the whole sheet on one layout, so there is a lot of potential layouts in each sheet. Again: Nice value.
In my layout, I used the Sunny Happy Skies [twopeasinabucket.com]. I love the bright colors and patterns. I mixed the cloud paper [twopeasinabucket.com] with the one from the One Fall Day collection [twopeasinabucket.com]. The hot air balloons didn't match my layout, so I simply cut the clouds from the other paper and adhered them over the balloons. The sun is cut from several different yellow patterns (one was a scrap laying on my desk). I love to cut these kind of circles. I did this a lot in my last Christmas Album. I love the concentration of color. I have used this cloud/green strip at the bottom with a sun layout design 3 times in the last week… each for a different album. Apparently I really like it right now.
I didn't finish the journaling on this layout. I asked my daughter about the title while I was working on it, she helped to pick this one. I will go back to her and have her help me fill in the journaling block that starts “I *heart* you because….”
