Video - From Start to Finish Video: Five by Nichol Magouirk posted 04/13/11 Galleries: Scrapbooking, Stamping For the entire month of April, From Start to Finish will feature stamping on each layout for the 30 Days of Stamping and Cardmaking Event. For this week's layout I created I used one of my favorite stamping techniques: using white ink on vellum. I combined Ali Edwards March Studio AE stamp set Cake & Candles with her Kids are Cool stamp set to stamp a fun and easy border for this birthday layout. I love how the Cake & Candles set works just as well for a scrapbook layout as it does for cards. CHALLENGE: Try stamping on vellum. Watch video below | Five |

Hi Nichol, I have a question. After you scored your vellum, did you ink the fold afterwards? It looks white to me at my computer where you scored it, and I didn't know if that was a trick my eyes are playing on me. :)
Very cute! I am inspired to try white ink on vellum now. Thanks!

I didn't ink it. when you score vellum like that it puts a crease in the vellum that gives it a "white" line. No inking necessary! :)

THANK YOU for doing so many BOY layouts! Just like masculine cards, boy layouts are difficult for me, but I am so glad you do many of them, and they're all inspiring! As a mom or a little boy, I am super appreciative of the effort you make into showing both boy and girl layouts. I just bought the Playground collection a couple of weeks ago and am super excited to use it in my son's scrapbook! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Is there an easy way to adhere the vellum to the page without showing though?

Hi Nichol, awesome-ness again! I am so thankful for all your details. I was wondering what brand of glue dots come in the little green(?) holder. That looks like a better way to me! Thanks!
